April 2024 and Onward

COVID - 19

We prioritize the health and safety of everyone at our events. While mask mandates have eased and Australia has transitioned out of the emergency response phase, COVID-19 is still present. We encourage practices that promote a healthy environment, such as social distancing, frequent handwashing, and staying home if you're unwell.

The pandemic brought many challenges, and although the situation has improved, Australia has not officially declared the pandemic over. We recommend following the latest guidelines from the Australian Department of Health to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe participating in our in-person sessions or gatherings.

Note: Competition entry fees must be settled prior to the December event for the entry to be valid.

Important Notice Regarding Public Disclosure and Patent Protection

Please be aware that presenting your invention at any of our monthly meetings is considered a public disclosure. This can impact your ability to obtain a patent in certain countries. If you are considering patent protection for your invention, we strongly advise you to consult with a patent attorney before presenting at a meeting.

For more information on patent protection, please refer to these resources:

We are also proud to be partnered with BRM Patent Attorneys, a leading intellectual property law firm specializing in patent protection. They can provide expert advice and guidance throughout the patenting process.

We understand the importance of both public recognition and patent protection. By being aware of the public disclosure implications, you can make informed decisions about presenting your inventions at our meetings and pursuing patent opportunities.
