IAA-Vic Updates, Events, and Inventor Recognition

Stay connected with the latest activities of the Inventors Association of Australia (Victoria) Inc., including inventor meetings, competitions, community announcements, and milestones celebrating innovation across our inventor community.

IAA-Vic events provide structured opportunities for inventors, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge, receive guidance, showcase innovations, and build connections throughout the invention journey.

This page features upcoming meetings, competitions, community announcements, success stories, archives of past events, our blog (The Innovation Insights), and our forum (The Inventor's Corner), providing resources for both first-time inventors and experienced innovators.

Our events bring together inventors, investors, industry leaders, and innovation partners to encourage collaboration, share practical knowledge, and support the commercialization of new ideas.

Through meetings, competitions, and community initiatives, IAA-Vic supports inventors at every stage of the invention journey—from early ideas and feasibility discussions through to recognition of completed innovations.

Important Notice Regarding Public Disclosure and Patent Protection

Please be aware that presenting your invention at any of our monthly meetings is considered a public disclosure. This can impact your ability to obtain a patent in certain countries. We are also proud to be partnered with BRM Patent Attorneys, a leading intellectual property law firm specializing in patent protection. They can provide expert advice and guidance throughout the patenting process.

Event Health & Safety Information — COVID-19

April 2024 and Onward

COVID - 19

We prioritize the health and safety of everyone at our events. While mask mandates have eased and Australia has transitioned out of the emergency response phase, COVID-19 is still present. We encourage practices that promote a healthy environment, such as social distancing, frequent handwashing, and staying home if you're unwell.

The pandemic brought many challenges, and although the situation has improved, Australia has not officially declared the pandemic over. We recommend following the latest guidelines from the Australian Department of Health to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe participating in our in-person sessions or gatherings.
