Founded in 1989, the Inventors Association Australia – Victoria (IAA-VIC) is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. With a membership of over 1,000 inventors from diverse backgrounds and locations, our mission is to support and promote the interests of inventors across Australia.

IAA-VIC offers a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to empower creators at every stage—from the first sketch to a finished product. Members gain access to high-level expertise, including professional patent research via our exclusive Ambercite license, prototype development support, and a vast network of industry resources. To help launch your innovation, we showcase member products across our global YouTube channel and dedicated Inventor Profiles, maximizing exposure to partners and customers. Because we are an organization run by inventors, for inventors, we provide the practical, tailored support needed to unlock your project’s full potential and bring it to life.

• Information and Support: We provide members with practical guidance on the entire invention journey—from initial patenting and IP protection to marketing and funding strategies. Members benefit from peer-to-peer counseling, specialized workshops, and structured networking events accessible from anywhere in the world.

• The Feasibility Committee: Our hallmark service. Members can submit ideations and prototypes for honest, expert assessment. This committee helps bridge the gap between a concept and a market-ready product, providing a "sanity check" that is respected worldwide.

• Networking and Global Collaboration: Connect with a community of like-minded innovators and industry experts across Australia and abroad. Our calendar includes monthly in-person and online meetings, Q&A sessions with guest experts, and an exclusive online forum where members collaborate and share progress regardless of their time zone.

• Advocacy: IAA – VIC represents the interests of inventors at the government level. We actively advocate for policies that protect intellectual property and ensure that independent creators have the resources and support they need to succeed in the Australian landscape.

IAA-VIC is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, and is governed by a committee elected by our members in attendance. While our membership is global, our leadership is rooted in Victoria to ensure hands-on management of the association's mission. As a self-funded group, our operations are supported entirely by membership dues and sponsorships. We are committed to celebrating excellence and host a prestigious yearly Inventor-of-the-Year competition, recognizing groundbreaking inventions from across our entire community.
