Interactive Community Wrap-up

Patent Attorney (Ben Mott) vs AI, with the help of TS Blackwell-Hart

Member Perspectives: Looking Back at Our Interactive "AI vs Patent Attorney" Workshop

Our recent interactive workshop brought together members from across the association to look at a highly debated topic: the role of Artificial Intelligence in early-stage invention development.

The evening was structured around a live, three-way technical drafting challenge, tracking how generative systems handle the dense formatting demands of patent descriptions and claims. Rather than a static presentation, the room provided a fantastic environment for open discussion, with members sharing their practical, everyday experiences using modern prompt tools to organize their early ideas.

The biggest highlight of the night was watching how different input parameters completely shifted the quality of the machine output. It gave our community a firsthand look at how precise your technical background data must be to get a coherent result.

We extend our sincere thanks to our site sponsors, including Ben Mott of BRM Patent Attorneys for giving his professional time and expertise to evaluate these outputs, and committee member and site sponsor T.S. Blackwell-Hart for leading the technical AI framework demonstration. Ben's feedback truly grounded the evening in real-world legal realities, showing our community exactly where human expertise remains entirely irreplaceable.

If you missed the session or want to review the exact claim structures used during the challenge, the full summary is available on our Resources Page, and you can read the complete legal breakdown directly on Ben Mott's BRM Patent Attorneys Page.
